
Lexa Chernin
She is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, and Sanskritist. She offers weekly classes at Yoga Secrets in Kennett Square, PA and is co-creator and lead teacher of the Yoga Secrets 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.
Lexa is a professional member of Yoga Alliance and NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association).
Lexa's Training
Lexa has completed over 4000 hours of direct training and formal study in a broad spectrum of the Vedic tradition. She is blessed to have had the opportunity to study with many exceptional teachers, and she is deeply committed to honoring the traditional teachings of her lineage.
She is trained in Vinyasa Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Supreme Release Yoga, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, and Yoga Nidra.
She has taken courses in Ayurvedic Healing and Integral Vedic Counseling through the American Institute of Vedic Studies, both in Pennsylvania with Ed Zadlo and in India with Dr David Frawley and Shambhavi Devi. Areas of focus here include Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, Tantra, Jyotish and Vastu.
Lexa completed the Sanskrit teacher apprenticeship at the American Sanskrit Institute, and implements the ASI method of teaching in her Sanskrit offerings. For years she studied privately with Zoe Mai (former director of ASI). She studied Sanskrit for two years at Swarthmore College with Dr Varun Khanna, with whom she also studies Paninian grammar and Vedanta. She currently studies Sanskrit with Dr Deven Patel of University of Pennsylvania, and privately with Patty O'Brien. She studies Veda chanting with Shantala Sriramaiah.
She completed the Ayurvedic Practitioner's program at the highly esteemed Kerala Ayurveda Academy under the guidance of Dr Jayarajan Kodikannath. Her continued work at KAA includes the study of traditional Vedic herbal formulations, Ashtanga Hrdayam, and marma therapy.
Lexa has extensively studied mystical, practical, and essential traditional yoga shastra, yoga therapy, and more with Kaya Mindlin. Lexa is grateful to have her as a mentor.
