About the event
Sanskrit is the language of Yoga and Ayurveda. Its study is such a rewarding process and can be a spiritual practice in its own right. Learning the basics of Sanskrit and how to translate mantras, prayers and texts brings a rich experience to the student that isn't given through simply reading the translations of others.
However, in order to translate with ease, certain foundational knowledge is necessary. In this class, we will take a deep dive into how verbs work in the Sanskrit language. This includes understanding how verbal roots are divided into groups, how those roots are conjugated, and a look at many of the tenses and moods.
This class is open to everyone with an interest in language. Basic Sanskrit knowledge is very helpful but not required.
