About the event

Sanskrit is the language of Yoga and is thousands of years old. It is considered divine and sacred, and as such it has the ability to open our hearts and minds in profound ways. Whether you are a yoga teacher hoping to refine your pronunciation of terms commonly used in class, want to start or elevate your chanting practice, or just simply love to learn about language, this workshop is for you.

In our time together, we will discover all of the sounds of the Sanskrit alphabet and discuss how to read transliteration, which is the key to finding the correct pronunciation of any given word. We will then learn the proper usage and correct pronunciation of Sanskrit words commonly used in Yoga, including asana names, chakras, popular mantras and yogic prayers.
